Le Labo is the sensory brainchild of duo Eddie Roschi and Fabrice Penot. The pair opened their perfume store in New York's Nolita neighborhood in 2006. Calling themselves "olfactory artistic directors," they work with some of the greatest perfumers in the world to create scents that have won over consumers and the press alike.
Roschi shares, "We have used natural vanilla bourbon, which is so complex and multi-faceted. It brings so many different things to a composition. It adds a solid sweet foundation that gives warmth, volume, length and power to a scent. In the world of perfume, it evokes oriental sweetness and warm breezy nights."
"We have used natural vanilla bourbon, which is so complex and multi-faceted. It brings so many different things to a composition..." "Authentic, natural vanilla touches us all in so many ways. It is a nostalgic spice, but it's also very romantic and has an aphrodisiacal effect. I mean, just the look of the bean itself; it's oily, juicy and has that dark chocolate hue. Vanilla is so sensual."
"I love the intensity of the bean from Madagascar; it offers this very mystical component. I've tried vanilla beans grown elsewhere but, for me, it really is the best."
